Blueberry Jam
We loveeee making our own jams and sauces in the Thermomix. It’s so easy as it’s hands free, doesn’t take long and you know exactly what’s in it! I love that you can control how much sugar etc. If you have ever looked at shop bought jams ingredients, they are packed with sugars, sometimes using more than 1 type of sugar and they can also have preservatives. We really enjoy eating freshly baked bread with some butter and jam. So scrumptious!
Makes 1 jar.
Ingredients:
500 grams fresh or frozen blueberries
120 grams raw sugar
30 grams honey
20 grams lemon juice
1. Place all ingredients in TM bowl. Cook 25 minutes, Varoma, speed 1. Place simmering basket on top of the lid (no MC in) and place a heat-safe jar and lid upside down in the simmering basket so that it will be steralised from the steam rising.
2. Pour jam contents into jar and let cool to room temperature before putting lid on jar & refrigerating.
Tip: Make sure to rinse blueberries before using. The jam will appear quite runny when you pour it into the jar(s) which is fine, it thickens as it cools and will be perfect the next day after being in the fridge overnight.
